Customer Rating: Summary: Loved it as a youngster.....but watch out!!! Comment: Loved, loved, loved this movie when it was first released in the early 80's, which is precisely why I purchased it, along with the soundtrack for my 3yo. She loves it, too, and at this stage in her life is totally oblivious to the druken/sexual Miss Hannagin (now that I think of it, I was too, even at 13). Why, oh why did they feel the need to have actors screaming GD several times at the end?? This makes me sick they had to cheapen a precious musical with very talented actors. Otherwise it is a classic in my book. Oh, and I agree with others...much peripherial action is sadly lost due to the fullscreen rather than widescreen format.

Editorial Reviews:
|
Charmless and dull, this adaptation of the Broadway hit stars Aileen Quinn as the depression-era moppet, Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Carol Burnett as the cruel headmistress at an orphanage, and Tim Curry as a villain. The film never gets its legs, and there is no sense of setting; it's almost as if the whole thing is happening in a void. John Huston nominally directed--no doubt to make money between his smaller, cheaper masterpieces--but one would have thought he would invest something of himself in here. --Tom Keogh
