Summary: A deliriously charming movie
Comment: Lizzie is a pretty girl, with a huge character. She isn't quiet... She questions all the time.
Darcy is a gorgeous and charmer man. He's involving and mysterious. At first, he looks like arrogant, but I think he is very shy.The first contact between them is a beautiful moment in the movie, when he sends her
into the carriage. It's their first skin on skin touch.
They are perfect together... an love each other.
Keira is the most brilliant young actress.
Matthew is the best actor that I've seen in my entire life.he's perfect.
Ilove every scene, every minute in this movie, from start to finish....

Summary: It's not the A&E
Comment: If you love the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice, don't watch this adaptation, if you love the Book don't watch this adaptation. The Characters aren't believable as the people they portray. It's like watching the Gwyneth Paltrow version of Emma... much to Hollywood for me.

Summary: Simply Lovely
Comment: If you're a longtime Austen fan and you love P&P then, yes, this movie may be disappointing for you. But if you can take this movie as it is, without comparing it to the literary work too much, you will simply fall in love.

Everything about this movie is enchanting. Kiera Knightly does a fabulous job of playing the spirited Elizabeth Bennet, completely unaware of her own beauty for in society it does not compare to her sisters. But the person that really makes this movie is Matthew MacFadyen, who plays Mr. Darcy. He truly captures all of the unlikeable traits of Mr. Darcy in the beginning, and has you completely in love with him at the end.

Tom Hollander is Mr. Collins and he captures him completely. The dance scene between he and Lizzie alone is worth the price of the movie.

Visually entertaining, it's like taking a peek through a magical looking glass and catching the smallest glimpse of what life must have been like in England near 1800. Austen was truly a master of writing about the kind of love that would escape her. Every girl should have a Mr. Darcy.

Summary: Dreadful!
Comment: I wasn't so sure I'd like this version of the story, since I love the BBC production so much. But despite my reservations, I went ahead and watched it anyway. How I regret that decision. If I could it less than one star, I would. The story was rushed, and not just so they could trim it down to standard feature film length. The characters were portrayed all wrong, and I winced at their delivery on many occasions. The casting was okay, but how Keira Knightley received an Oscar nomination, and a BAFTA award, for this lackluster, uninspired portrayal of Lizzy is beyond me. She was dreadful. The writing was equally as bad, as they cut out many of Austen's original lines and scenes in order to put in their own weaker ideas. The scenery and cinematography were the only good points of the entire film. If you've never read the book, you'd probably enjoy this. If you have, don't bother. Skip it and watch the best adaption: the BBC miniseries with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.

Summary: best movie ever!
Comment: I LOVE this movie. I love everything about it, the music, the actors and actresses, the scene, the story line...Since I bought it I watched it every other day. I can relate to the main characters so much. I like the fact that so many lines are kept what Jane Austen used in the book. Keira is the perfect Ms. Bennet, and Matthew is the perfect Mr. Darcy. He is so handsome in this movie! I am not a romantic person, but this movie just amazing.

Editorial Reviews:

One of the greatest love stories of all time Pride & Prejudice comes to the screen in a glorious new adaptation starring Keira Knightley. When Elizabeth Bennett (Knightley) meets the handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen) she believes he is the last man on earth she could ever marry. But as their lives become intertwined in an unexpected adventure she finds herself captivated by the very person she swore to loathe for all eternity. Based on the beloved masterpiece by Jane Austen it is the classic tale of love and misunderstanding that sparkles with romance wit and emotional force. Critics are calling it "Exhilarating. A joy from start to finish" (Carina Chocano Los Angeles Times).System Requirements:Running Time: 129 minutesFormat: DVD MOVIE Genre: DRAMA Rating: PG UPC: 025192807220 Manufacturer No: 61028072
